Sylvan Mortimer Price ~ CEO
Biography:
Mortimer is a recognized personality on the Toronto entertainment circuit where he presently resides. This acknowledgement comes from over twenty (20) years of Calypso Spectacular, a radio program he created to tribute old masters and new torches of musical genres emanating from Trinidad & Tobago and the Eastern Caribbean. The program can be heard every Sunday from 3 – 6 PM on CHRY 105.5FM or on the World Wide Web, www.chry.fm.
As a child of St. James & Woodbrook, Mortimer’s formative years were spent in the pulse of Trinidad & Tobago culture; and this is his foundation.
In 1984, he was the leader of the Blue Flames, the dance support ensemble of the artist then known as Blue Boy. Who could forget that magical moment when Superblue ascended the Savannah stage to perform Fete, accompanied by those outstanding Soca Breakdancers. That sequence was co-choreographed by Mortimer. In Canada, he has persevered in his love for all that is Caribbean arts including theatre, dance, and of course on the airwaves.
Many T&T based artist will tell you that on many a Sunday afternoon they would join Mortimer in his studio as a guest host. Artists such as Iwer George, Anslem Douglas, Double D, Rikki Jai and Rupee along with some of the top DJs such as C- Wyllie of 96.1 and Rhythm Nation to name a few, have graced his studio. This allows the artist an imaginative access to adoring fans.
He has his own business, Iere Imagery, where he designs flyers and websites for companies and other organizations, and he has also started this promotion company IERE (Innovative Entertainment Respectable Events) where he will be hiring and promoting artists from the Caribbean and North America.
